About

Welcome to Amnesty International Nepal’s blog – The Candle.

We started The Candle with a view to creating a web platform to highlight and showcase various human rights issues, contents, campaigns and interventions that Amnesty Nepal and its members and supporters engage with and interact.

The Candle, which we also call a blogzine/webzine (web magazine) is more than just a blog. It publishes blog posts or entries on various human rights issues on a monthly basis. Through this blog, we intend not just to publish news and updates related to various aspects of human rights, but also to start conversation and discourse revolving around human rights.

Whether you are an enthusiast interested in human rights or a human rights activist, whether or not you are a member of Amnesty, whether you are from Nepal or elsewhere, your contribution will add value to diversify and amplify the voices leading to the protection and promotion of human rights. We invite you all to join the conversation and contribute to the platform.

You can contribute to this platform in different ways such as: commenting, liking, subscribing, sharing, submitting blogs related to human rights, and so on. You can click on the comment link at the top or bottom of the posts and post your views and thoughts on the blogs you have read. Please note that all the comments will undergo a moderation process before it appears.  You can share the posts on Facebook, Twitter and other social media networks or email someone.

You can also publish a new blog post related to human rights in this platform. You can submit your writing to info@amnestynepal.org. If necessary, we may edit your submission to align with Amnesty’s principled position, clarity and quality purposes before publishing it.

Thank you for visiting The Candle. We anticipate your active participation and contribution to build this platform more vibrant and engaging!

The Candle Team!
